Ipe is available in sufficient sizes to build your entire deck, substructure and surface, out of Ipe.  Ipe also makes an excellent deck surface on a new or existing Pressure Treated sub-structure.  Due to the extreme density of this material, special installation procedures are recommended:

• Decking must be pre-drilled and countersunk prior to nailing or screwing.

• Stainless steel screws are the recommended fastener.

• Carbide blades and drill bits are recommended.

Finishing:
Due to the natural beauty and durability of Ipe, finishing is not required. Should a finished deck be desired, please contact us.

Safety:
Ipe is a natural decking product and contains no man-made preservatives. As with all natural products, some individuals may experience an allergic reaction to dust and splinters. To protect against allergic reactions and the threat of personal injury common in all construction projects, the use of personal protective gear such as goggles, gloves, respirators and back supports are strongly recommended.
